This love is and was so special to my family. He was compassionate, smart, loving, a big cuddle-er, and the best companion to my mom. He always had an eye out for her and it made me feel comforted, in a way. He gave so much love and laughter to my family. He was funny and deserved the best in life. All of our fur loves do. They are truly kind heart-ed beings. They give their best to humankind and they deserve our best in return. I smile just thinking of him and I miss him every day. I know there are so many loves out there who need great care (and who have great people in their lives) and that’s what my business, Millennial Manhattan Pets, is all about: giving them our love! So…without further ado…I introduce to you…Rubin, our Rhodesian Ridgeback!

Funny that you had a Rhodesian Ridgeback all the way out there. 🙂 There were 3 at Little Monkey’s dog class this morning (here in Cape Town, South Africa). Rubin looks to have been a really nice dog. 🙂

Rubin was the best. 🙂 There’s not too many where I’m from, but surprisingly, i see a lot of them in NYC. I’d get another one in a heartbeat. What’s the class? Thx for the comment btw!

You’re welcome. 🙂
I take my dog Little Monkey to socialisation classes, where many dogs interact off-lead on the field. We have our own ‘dog whisperer’. She wasn’t socialised before I got her and she is anxious, so we have been going over 11 years. She has learnt how to deal with other dogs – mostly! 🙂

Oh okay, so is she also a rescue pup? I know socialization is super important and it can be a tough area for many dogs. Sounds like a fun group!

Yes, all the dogs I’ve adopted have been rescues, usually at least 6 years old and Mr Spaghetti Legs was 12!
LM was the youngest at 18 months. Some dogs would have coped without seeing other dogs or going for walks, but it took its toll on LM.
Still, she does very well now – but will Always leap in the air when she encounters a strange dog!!
